Sadly the need to help low and no income families and individuals is not getting any less and the Easter school holidays are nearly upon us. Please, when you are getting your weekly groceries, would you consider buying an extra packet or tin of something to donate to the York Food Bank, or take advantage of the 2 for 1 offers available. There is a particular need to supply our families with the equipment to make full meals, therefore tinned stewed meat, “Fray Bentos” pies, dried mashed potatoes and vegetables (including tomatoes), plus tinned fruit are particularly needed at present. Jam, tea, coffee, dried milk, biscuits and toiletries are also helpful. It would be good to be able to include some Easter goodies in our offerings at this time of year. Unfortunately the Food Bank is unable to accept fresh food or home-made jams and preserves, or out of date/opened produce. Anything you can offer may be left in the trays at the back of St Andrew’s Church, or dropped off at Quench at the Methodist Church in Bishopthorpe (on a Thursday morning), or left at Holy Trinity Church Acaster Malbis. We really need your help. Thank you. Penny and Tom Whaley The white Gift envelopes for 2018/19 are ready to pick up from the back of church. If you would like to make regular gifts using the envelope scheme or a standing order please pick up a leaflet or speak to Chris Hall. The Annual Parochial Church Meetings will be following the morning services as follows: Holy Trinity—Sunday 8th April All Saints with St John’s and St Andrew’s— Sunday 15th April Please put this date in your diary. All are encouraged to come along. It is that time of year when we update the Church Electoral Roll. Being on the Electoral Roll allows you to vote at the Annual Church meeting. A copy of the current roll is on the back table. The last date for amendments is Thursday 29th March. If you are currently not on the roll and would like to be please pick up a form and return it to the Parish Office, the vicar or a churchwarden as soon as possible. If you are on the roll and your address has changed please amend it on the copy. Decorating St Andrews for Easter will be on Sat 31st March from 9.30am onwards. All Welcome to give a hand! Donations for Easter Lillies in memory of a loved one, to the Vicar or Liz Hulme. Can you help? We are very grateful for the faithful service of our many volunteers, but we need more so that the workload can be spread a little thinner. Please see the leaflet for our current need and consider whether there is anything you can help with. Celebrate Easter Day All are invited to a 6.45am Sunrise Service at St Andrew’s Old Church. Followed by coffee and bacon rolls
