The Ecumenical Church Council AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 10th February at Bishopthorpe Methodist Church. All welcome. Please come along and find out what's happening. START is a six week course introducing the Christian faith. Rachel and Richard Carew are running this course in their home for anyone wanting to know what following Jesus really means. Commencing on Thursday 5th February at 7.45pm for 6 weeks (except during half term) at their home. To book please contact Richard via the church office. PILGRIM is a course for people wanting toe explore further the Christian journey. Malcolm Macnaughton and others will be leading it from the start of Lent. PILGRIM is the first in a series of courses designed to help us grow in Christian faith and discipleship. This course will be held in St Andrews Church Hall beginning on Tuesday 24th Feb. To book please contact Malcolm via the church office. LENT LUNCHES Light lunches will be served in St Andrew's Church Hall on Wednesdays during Lent, 25th Feb, 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th March. Proceeds from these lunches will go to St Leonard's and Martin House Hospices. Lunch will be served from 11.45am to 1.00pm. Sounds OK? You might have noticed that we have upgraded the audio visual system in church. We'd now like to build on our team of volunteers who can operate the desk and projector for regular services and special events. Romy Dunn will be running a one day training event on Saturday 21st February. Sound in the morning and more advanced stuff in the afternoon. Attend for just the morning or for the whole day. Email romy @ bishopthorpe.net if you'd like to come. Every 3rd Sunday at St Andrew's we have a family Bring & Share lunch after the 10.30 Praise Service. The next service is 15th February. Please come along and join us. Don't hesitate -you are more than welcome at all these events. Holiday Club - 20th to 24th July - The theme will be The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Once again this will take place at St Andrews Bishopthorpe. Save the date (and your Christmas trees!) QUENCH CAFE - due to our ongoing success we are seeking more volunteers to help with the following: baking, making soup, washing up or just chatting to people. This can be on an either occasional or regular basis. Please call in on a Thursday morning and speak to Sharon at Bishopthorpe Methodist Church.
