The poems of George Herbert Come along to the Vicarage on Wednesday evenings from 11th October and learn more about this 17th Century Spiritual Divine. The evenings begin at 7.30pm. Harvest Festivals in the Parish St Andrew's Harvest Festival is on 1st October 2017 We will be decorating the Church for Harvest Festival on Saturday 30th Sept from 9.30 am. Anyone willing to help will be most welcome! Gifts of flowers will be used, but all food items will go to the Food Bank. Appleton Roebuck and Acaster Selby churches are celebrating Harvest with a Joint service at St John's, Acaster Selby 7.00pm 8th October followed by a Harvest Supper. All welcome. Pudding Party and Auction of Promises! Paul and Louise Thomas are going to work in Bolivia in November but before they do they are holding a Pudding Party and Auction of Promises to raise money for Operation Restoration. Saturday 7th October, 7:30pm - Tickets £5 (or £3 concessions) in St Andrews Church Hall. We are also looking for people who could offer/donate experiences, gifts, skills or services that others can bid for in the auction. The aim is to raise funds for Operation Restoration who are transforming the lives of street children in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Please consider if you can help us. St Andrew’s Gift Day Sat 7th Oct 8.30am Morning Prayer 9.30– 4pm Come along and bring your donation, however small. It is deeply appreciated. Refreshments available throughout the day. The tower will be open - an opportunity to be introduced to the ancient art of bellringing. As usual we will be distributing letters to all homes in the village telling them about what St Andrew’s has been up to over the last year. These will be available mid-September. If you can help with a street or two it would be much appreciated.
