Please see the leaflet for our current need and consider whether there is anything you can help with. Annual Parochial Church Meetings at both All Saints’, Appleton Roebuck and St Andrew’s, Bishopthorpe will be following the 10.30am services on Sunday 15th April If you are on the Electoral roll then you are entitled to come along, hear what has been happening this last year, hear what is planned for the future and to show support by voting for the new officers of the PCC. It is a great way to reflect on God’s work in our Parishes. The 2018/19 electoral roll has now been updated. The new roll is displayed at the back of church until the 15th April. No new names can be added until after this date, but if there are any amendments to names or addresses please make a note on the form. St Andrew’s Reports from the various church groups as well as the Safeguarding officer, Churchwardens, Treasurer and finance reports are now printed. Please pick one up from the back table. Christian Aid week 2018 To fundraise for Christian Aid this year we are planning two events, both on Saturday 19th May (also the date of the Royal Wedding and the FA Cup Final!) From 9.30—11.30am the Churches together in Bishopthorpe have a Coffee Morning in the Village Hall. We will need volunteers to bake for this. In the evening we have the Shepherd’s Brass Band concert. Ticket info to follow. Many thanks to all those who donated towards the Easter flowers and helped with the beautiful flower arrangements. What is the PCC? The PCC is the governing body of the church. It consists of clergy, churchwardens and lay members. They meet monthly and together they are responsible for the overall wellbeing, practical as well as spiritual, of the church members and the church buildings. In larger churches the PCC will also be registered with the Charity Commission and members will become Charity Trustees. Would you be interested in serving as a PCC member? If you are interested in serving this way please have a word with the vicar, churchwardens or Linda Brown (secretary to the PCC). There are nomination forms available at the back of church and the elections will be held at the Annual Meetings.
