Thank you. Your Church Needs You! Currently we need people to offer to help with Sidesperson duties and to assist the Church Wardens. Please think and pray about this and whether you might be able to join the team. It really isn't onerous and you would only be needed a couple of times a year. It involves arriving at Church 20-30 minutes before a service, meeting and greeting the congregation, handing out the hymn books, taking the collection and carrying the elements up during the offertory hymn. At the end of a service we need you to collect stray books and generally help reset the church, putting out the candles, returning things to the vestry and assisting the Church Warden as a 2nd person counting the collection. Please talk to either of the Church Wardens, to Pam Macnaughton, or to Tom or Penny Whaley. There are printed copies of 'outlines of duties' at the back of the Church for your information Church Urban Fund It is time to ask for the Church Urban Fund boxes to be returned. If you took a box at Harvest time, then please would you return it to Church at any of the services as soon as possible. Thank you for your support. York Food Bank still needs your support and currently there is a shortage of tinned meat and vegetables, soups and dried potato, tinned fruit, cereals, small bags of sugar, cartons of custard, biscuits, tea, coffee, long life milk and long life fruit juice. Sadly we cannot accept fresh fruit and vegetables or home made jams and chutneys for the Food Bank. Carecent offers a warm welcome, advice, support and a hearty breakfast to disadvantaged and unemployed people. Currently Carecent needs cereals and porridge, tinned ham, spam and corned beef, hot dogs, tinned spaghetti and baked beans, sugar, instant coffee and toiletries (no aerosols). We need a volunteer to transport the Carecent groceries to the Central Methodist Hall in Saviourgate on a regular basis. Is this something you could offer to do for us? Please talk to Ian Sangster to find out more. Lost Property - We are starting to accumulate a number of clothing items in the Church Hall which have been left hanging on the pegs just inside the entrance. If anything is yours please claim it, otherwise it will disposed of by the end of the year. Thank you. Pastoral Care - Recognised Parish Assistants. If you have a situation or person that you would like the Recognised Parish Assistants to be aware of please speak to Emma Field, the group coordinator or leave a message with the Parish Office
