There are 60 stories and it will be sold for £6.99 BUT up to Saturday 8 December the price will be £5 only. All proceeds for Church Urban Fund Available from Bishopthorpe Library or Carole Green 48 Main St tel 701133 or email [email protected] York Food Bank – HELP!! - Christmas is coming!!! Thank you for your continued donations of food and household goods which we take over to the Gateway Centre, Acomb, each week. Sadly the need to help low and no income families and individuals is not getting any less and we heard that the need in York has increased by a third. No doubt everyone is thinking ahead to Christmas : school holidays (with no free school meals available) make it doubly hard for these families. Your help is even more necessary, and what you give is greatly appreciated. Please, when you are getting your weekly groceries, would you consider buying an extra packet or tin of something to donate to the York Food Bank, or take advantage of the 2 for 1 offers available. There is a particular need to supply our families with the equipment to make full meals, therefore tinned stewed meat, “fray bentos” pies, dried mashed potatoes and vegetables, plus tinned fruit are particularly needed at present. Jam, tea, coffee, dried milk, biscuits and toiletries are also helpful. Any “Christmassy” items would also be very much appreciated. Unfortunately the Food Bank is unable to accept fresh food or home-made jams and preserves, or out of date/opened produce. Please leave all donations in the plastic boxes at the back of church (open daily). Fair Trade Christmas Shopping There will be a Fair Trade stall at Quench on Thursday 16th November with Christmas goodies, cards and gifts. Orders taken.
