Greetings! The Ministry Team and Recognised Parish Assistants are here for you! If you would like to contact us for any reason, please do ring Chris’ mobile any time. I am here for everyone and not just for those who have a faith.
Because our income has been adversely affected by the pandemic, we are grateful for any donations, do click the button on the website or send your donation to the Benefice Office, Church Lane, Bishopthorpe, YO23 2QG. Write the name of the church where you would like your donation to go. Thank you to those who support your church on a regular basis. We are in another lockdown!! - but never mind we are recording services and putting them on our website and Facebook. Also do read the letter to the nation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York. It can be found below. A Eucharist for the Feast of Christ the King goes out on the website and Facebook this Sunday. This Feast celebrates the Kingship of Christ over His Creation and all secular governments and authorities and marks the end of the Christian Year. We begin a new one next Sunday with Advent. What’s Happening? Morning and Evening Prayer takes place most days in St Andrew’s at 07:00 and 18.00 respectively. The time of the evening service has changed to coincide with the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York encouraging everyone to pray at 18.00. There are resources available on the Church of England website. St Andrew’s will be open for private prayer on Sunday mornings 07.30 to 10.30 and on Wednesday afternoons from 14.00 to 16.00 (unless there is a funeral!) We warmly celebrate the 6 new members to the PCC at Bishopthorpe. We are grateful for the service and commitment of those stepping down from the PCC’s. We pray for Pam and Bishop to be, Malcolm, as they prepare to leave us to move to their new home in Swanwick in the Diocese of Derby. We pray for Nikhill and Amy who (hopefully) will be married in St Andrew’s Church on 5th December. They have had to move the date of their wedding a number of times! During the weeks of Advent I am hoping to hold a zoomed service of Compline (Night Prayer), I just need to get myself booked into the busy Zoom schedule!
