Because our income has been adversely affected by the pandemic, we are grateful for any donations, do click the button on the website or send your donation to the Benefice Office, Church Lane, Bishopthorpe, YO23 2QG. Write the name of the church where you would like your donation to go. Thank you to those who support your church on a regular basis. We are in another lockdown!! - but never mind we are recording services and putting them on our website and Facebook. Also do read the letter to the nation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York. It can be found below. There will be a Remembrance Day service online including the live streaming at 11.00 of the laying of the wreath at the war memorial in the churchyard. Do log on if you can. In the evening the cafe’ church service, Refresh, is on Zoom from 18.30. What’s Happening? Morning and Evening Prayer takes place most days in St Andrew’s at 07:00 and 18.00 respectively. The time of the evening service has changed to coincide with the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York encouraging everyone to pray at 18.00. There are resources available on the Church of England website. St Andrew’s will be open for private prayer on Sunday mornings 07.30 to 10.30 and on Wednesday afternoons from 14.00 to 16.00 (unless there is a funeral!) Wednesday 11th Armistice Day 10.30 Funeral of Barrie Stuart Tate in St Andrew’s Bishopthorpe. 14.00 to 16.00 St Andrew's open for private prayer Friday 6th 18.45 to 19.45 Danger Zone on Zoom which is a coming together and activities for youngsters from age 11 to 13 years. 20:00 to 21.15 Summit youth group on Zoom for older teenagers. We meet in the presence of God. We commit ourselves to work in penitence and faith for reconciliation between the nations, that all people may, together, live in freedom, justice and peace. We pray for all who in bereavement, disability and pain continue to suffer the consequences of fighting and terror. We remember with thanksgiving and sorrow those whose lives, in world wars and conflicts past and present, have been given and taken away. Thank you for donations towards St Andrew’s Gift Day. So far, we have received £1627.45.
