York Food Bank: Thank you all for your generous donations. There is a particular need to supply our families with the equipment to make full meals, therefore tinned stewed meat, “fray bentos” pies, dried mashed potatoes and vegetables (including tomatoes), plus tinned fruit are particularly needed at present. Jam, tea, coffee, dried milk, biscuits and toiletries are also helpful. Thank you so much for your continued support – it does make such a difference to the people who receive the food parcels, and the real need does not get any less. Did you know there is a voucher system which is managed by doctors’ surgeries, social workers and other official bodies so people cannot just walk in off the street and ask for a food parcel.
